Prolouge

Footsteps echoed on the white tiles as the two men walked briskly down the corridor. The taller of the two was holding a flat screen in his hand and flicking away on it. The smaller man, stockier than his companion, was dressed in a dark gray suit that obviously belonged to someone taller and more in shape.
The taller man suddenly looked up from his tablet, as though waking up from a dream, and addressed the other. "It's not far from here."
"It had better not be," the short man said in a voice that sounded like gravel. The tablet man nodded, and they came to a stop before a door marked 'Titus Project'. The man pulled a key from the inside of his lab coat. He inserted it into the door, turned it, and paused. "Mr. Andrews, you are aware that what I am about to show you is highly confidential, top level clearance, in fact." Mr. Andrews gave the scientist a cold look and pushed open the door.
The room was large, but dark and dimly lit. There were several monitors crowded into corners, slowly beeping, but the main focus of the room was on the center of it. A huge, cylindrical shape was covered by a white sheet. The scientist walked up to it, put his hand on the sheet, and paused. "We have been working on the Titus Project for over thirteen years. The original number was fifteen, but the rest all failed. Only this one survived." He pulled at the sheet. It fell to the floor, revealing a tank full of what appeared to be water. Mr. Andrews gasped.
Inside the tank was a girl, clothed only in a lightly colored shift. Her head was back, and her long dark brown hair floated out behind her. Her arms were out to her sides, and her eyes were closed. The scientist smiled.

"Mr. Andrews, meet Subject 13."

About Me

My photo
I am an energetic, fun loving girl who enjoys reading, running, and hanging out with my Blogger and real life buddies. I am a fledgling writer (mainly because I suffer from a critical condition of writer's block), who's favorite genres to write are fantasy, sci-fi, and sometimes historical fiction. I also am a BIG daydreamer, and can often be found by a window, fantasizing about a story that I have seen or read. I am also a huge quotist, meaning that I randomly shout out lines from shows and movies that most people haven't seen. Names I have copyrighted are: Akire, Kayana, Azza, Stella, Zyll(ah), Ayla, Kirwan, Jetstorm, Burnfang, and Flickerclaw.
